So my friend is graduating from a private high school where they make you wear all white. Well, considering she said every dress she tried on made her look like a pillowcase she hired me to make something a touch more flattering. So we fiddled around, chose fabrics and voila!
It's all dupioni silk with cotton lace overlay. I drafted the entire pattern myself. w00t.

and then on a whim she asked me to alter another dress that her mother had bought her for another grad even the night before.... it's jersey knit with a lace overlay. I added a pleated section of dupioni from the other dress.

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

Great job on those dresses!  Is fashion really that shapeless these days? Or is it just the white dresses in the stores?

The first one is gorgeous (I love the low cut neckline in back,) but I can't believe how much you transformed that second one! It looks like a totally different dress... a much more flattering and attractive dress at that. Wonderful work.

Wow, such a beatufiul dress!
It's funny to hear abt the wearing white thing, because here in Sweden it's somewhat required that the girls wear white when they graduate from upper secondary school. I was out trying to find white clothes today.. if only your dress had been in the store...

those are beautiful. if only the white i had to wear was that interesting. I had to wear a boring white robe thing, and the really funny thing is i wore the same thing in middle school.
