I don't know about you, but I've noticed some really neat usernames around here!  Why don't we take a minute & share with all of the crafty folk how/why we selected our names??

Mine is, obviously, "comfits."

Lewis Carroll (aka-Charles Dodgson) is my fav author of kids lit and all around interesting guy (photographer, mathematician, etc).  He, of course, wrote Alice in Wonderland.  So, in Chapter III, there is this Caucus-Race.  Everyone is a winner, so they're at a loss of who will give the prize.  They pick Alice & "in despair" she reaches into her pocket to find a box of comfits.  Unfortunately, she ran out & didn't get one for herself Embarrassed  If you read on in that chapter you can find out what she received as her prize.

I tried some comfits before, in a pretty tin but they had a seed in the middle, maybe they were COUNTERFEIT COMFITS! Huh Anyways 'Meh' is word you say/type when you're bored/can't be bothered to answer a Q/sticking out your tounge/don't care. Yup.

my name is actually my cellphone's name. my cellphone got the name peachass because the name peanut was already taken by my car. (r.i.p.-my 87 cutlass cruiser station wagon w/ wood paneling, cute as a peanut and with the same wooden-ish shell!) after naming my car peanut i would kinda call any inanimate object that was cute 'peanut' and my cellphone was cute and the whole banner thing on the screen really made it seem like it needed a name. ok, so it couldn't be peanut too, so it's a hybrid of 'peanut' and 'bitchass'- a favorite term in my circle of friends.

My username denotes my approach to crafting which is to say that I often have to 'begin again' , usually after I've made that final cut or last stitch whilst tired, pressured or pissed (off) and then have to completly start over- I was like this as a kid and thought I would grow out of it, but I'm 31 now and tho my impatience rarely manifests itself in a temper tantrum, I still have to begin again all too often...it's also my getcrafty name tho i rarely post there anymore having found the c-ster.

Kids, this is one good thread. Well, "bead" because I own a bead store, and "kate" because my mom liked it when she was pregnant. (Katy, if I knew you in high school.)

Mine would be a book reference.  I got it by accident...I wear 1 of 2 hairstyles when working in the lab: the chopstick/pencil hair up style or a braid over the shoulder style.  Now, when I get annoyed I tend to tug on my hair and tap my foot.  Little did I know until one of my friends started laughing really hard that that was a characteristic of a book character named Nynaeve.  Next thing I know, they started calling me that.  Wink Men!  Incidently, if you recognize the book series: yes, it has gone down hill and it better end soon.   Tongue
The AS stands for "and so?" which I used to say alot but not so much now...

Tee hee, Nynaeve, I saw the AS as standing for Aes Sedai. Thanks for clearing that up. *wink*

Mine's just my online name. *shrug* Played EQ with a character named Iceya (pronounced ee-SEE-ya) and was called Ice all the time.

*feels like she just put on the "uber geek" hat (CHA -4, INT +1)*

contrary to what you may think, sugaree is not to describe my sweet disposition (which it, of course, is - my disposition i mean).  but rather, it's the name of one of my favorite grateful dead songs and it's not pronounced sugary; the accent's on the ree (and not the sug).  later on in life when i get a house and can have a dog, i think i may name her sugar magnolias after another great dead song and i'll call her maggie for short Smiley
