I took my first sewing class a few months ago and we made this bag. It is the instructor's pattern/design. The bag below is my first attempt to make it on my own. I am so surprised that I didn't have any problems. Everything just came together and it turned out so cute. It will be a birthday gift for my sister-in-law. I can't wait to give it to her!  Grin

Great job!  I love both your fabrics.  I made a tote bag for my brother's g/f friend out of the same material.  I just used boring brown on the inside.  The dots are so much better!

Nice job, you did very well for your 1st bag - you have a good sewing teacher. I love the pattern & the fabrics.

I bought this from my sewing instructor and it's Amy Butler fabric. It was more than I normally spend - $9/yard, but I love it. Etsy has a lot of Amy Butler and other cool fabrics for sale.

I LOVE my sewing teacher!! (Leslie Bonnell in Austin, TX!) She was a costume designer for years and has a great style. She is awesome to learn from. I've got the sewing/crafting bug, that's for sure! I'm taking her next sewing class now - onto sewing clothes...makes me nervous... Undecided
