So I found this circa 1960/70's poo brown folding chair for 2.50 which is kinda awesome.

but it had no padding, the material was stained and it smelled like only really old musty stuff smells like (not like old book smell, I love that smell)...
(see no padding)
even the metal folding part was poo brown...

So I decided since my colors for my new home will be blue, orange and chartreuse I figured the chair would be a perfect place to start! Went and dug up some fabric with blue/chartreuse on it then picked up some blue stain for six bucks and started stripping. Unfortunately I don't have any working on photos. If I did I would have had to shown you the BUGS eating the cotton batting that it used to have for padding (if you can call it that). Luckily they either decided mason board wasnt edible or they'd leave it for desert because it was all nice and untouched from buggy damage. After putting in some foam and poly batting (decidedly less bug eating friendly... URGH) it turned out like this:

metal is no longer poo but metal!

Freya seems to enjoy the newish chair smell too.

I was skeptical when I read chartreuse, orange and blue, but that looks really nice! Way to prove me wrong for being judgey. I like the solid blue chair with the patterned fabric... it's fun and bold without being loud. And your new upholstery job looks better done than the original.
