I used the Eight Dollar Dress How-To on BurdaStyle.com (http://www.burdastyle.com/howtos/show/724) to make this summer top for myself.  This is the second piece of clothing I've ever sewn, so I'm pretty pleased.  I think it turned out pretty good.

This is cute! It also looks easy enough to adapt to maternity, and I have no summer tops, so yeah!! (Oh, and btw, I'm in no way implying you look preggers or anything!! I like how the belly isn't too fitted)

Your top came out really nice. It looks vintage and that's a good thing.  Smiley

Very cute - did you smock it or is it that pre-smocked fabric?

I used the technique found on the Burdastyle.com how-to, where you just sew in rows of elastic. Smiley

Tivaclare, if you just sewed it so that the top got wider along the sideseam as it approached the hem, you'd have lots of room for a tummy with a baby in it Smiley

Great job on the faux smocking!
I adore the print, it's a lil rockabilly Tongue

So he finds her in a sprawl,
woven deep in memories revisited and reworked.
The scars get covered up with cherry blossoms that never felt as soft as this.
