i made these shoes one day with a friend, and they looked amazing, so i wore them out that night. i got lots of compliments, but by the end of the night they were cracked and parts of the comics had fallen off. oh well. i think i will just redo the bits that cracked and hope it doesn't happen again. does anyone have any suggestions for hot to keep them from cracking, or is that just inevitable.

in the process of making them (note the beer bottles. ah yes, crafting and boozing):

those shoes are awesome. the only idea i had was using a top coat clear sealer. Too bad they didn't last thru the nite, but I bow to your boozing craftiness lol...beth

Yeah, Top coat sealer might have helped the cracking. Not sure though, I've never Mod Podged Shoes before...

Other then that these are so cool! Comics were a great idea!

Those are really cute! Your problem may have been because the decoupage may not have had time to cure, and it does need a clear top coat over it. It may help also the paper adhere better if you rough up the shoe surface before you glue things on and give it lots of drying time. Reread the entire label because decoupage has real specific steps to follow to get a good result. Hope that helps!

i had this idea with phone books. when i was walking in chinatown i saw a huge pile of phonebooks written in chinese. i regret not picking them up for future crafting...i couldve even used it as wallpaper. </3
