This purse didn't start out being so pink, but somehow the pinkness overtook me.  The piping is all handmade.

that looks wonderful!!
i was just looking last night at a pattern i bought for a purse like that--but the pattern doesn't give any way to cover up the edges of the cut-out hole!  it says you have to use suede or fake suede (i guess for stiffness and so the edges don't look crummy).
how did you cover the edges of your cut-out?  it looks like fabric cut on the bias and then applied afterward?  however you did it, it looks very professional and i'd love to know the secret.  and i looove the piping!

Thank you for all of your very kind words.  The handles were a major pain this time because I heavily interfaced them with Pelltex and the edges weren't quite even.  I first tried to zig zag stitch but that didn't work due to unevenness.  Then I was going to make my own seam binding but I was impatient by that point.  Finally I found some coordinating purchased seam binding (see, it pays to hoard fabric supplies!).  I believe it is single fold seam binding.  Basically you open it up.  Place one long edge on the edge of the handle cut out on the RIGHT side, pin in place, and then sew the binding in place close to the edge.  I like to use the crease on the seam binding as a guide.  When you're done, flip the binding to the WRONG side with the long creased edge folded under.  Then I hand sewed the inside binding to the bag.  If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

It took me ages to figure it out.  Go to your profile and I think there are directions there.  It helps too if your pic isn't very large.
