Thank you all for your comments!  I'm glad that others like him as much as I liked making him.
His right hand was tricky and took 3 attempts, but he can give the "Live Long & Prosper" Salute or have a normal hand position thanks to a chenille stem.

I<3 Spocks ears too.

He is only my fourth doll if you count the three poppets, so I am jazzed that he turned out so well.

He is perfect! I would love it if you could post the link to where you got the body pattern. I think this is something I could easily do for my hubby for Christmas. Though I'd have to make Tu'vok instead as he's really into voyager.

Thanks again everyone!  I hope his new home loves him as much as all you do!

Eliea-  I used McCalls 7434.  But in the tradition of most all my crafts I changed things up a bit.  McCalls isn't my favorite pattern company, but this was a timely garage-sale find so I used it.  Like I said, the head was a bit on the wide and flat side so I did a free-hand enlargement to the poppet head pattern to be proportional to the body size, elongating the nose and adding a bit of a chin to make him look more masculine.

To the body pattern, I added an long neck to sew the head to and did not use the "bottom" piece.  I also decided not to put cardboard in his feet as it made the feet look awkward.  Obviously, you can't find pattern of the Vulcan salute, but by sewing a narrow V seam up the middle of one hand piece with right sides together and cutting up the middle of it, you can mod your own.  After turning the arm right side out, add a triple folded pipecleaner V to his right hand and handstitch in place to make it moldable.  Be sure to sew his right arm pointing up instead of down so you don't have to pin his arm up in greeting.
IF you can't find this pattern, I am sure that many of the 18" doll patterns online would work, just tweak them to suit you Wink

IF you need me to, I can try to take pics of the modified pattern pieces when I find them again (I've been cleaning Embarrassed ) Just let me know!

Sorry for such a long post, let me know if you have questions!

Thanks again!
