Colorful dyed lace

I dyed this lace using thinned acrylic paint, the $1 stuff available readily at craft stores:



Isn't it pretty?  It was a super easy process, but a little bit drippy and messy.  I hung the lace to dry outside on a shrub in the sun

I haven't decided what I'll do with it, but I'm far more likely to use these funky colors than white!

What a great idea - the colours are so pretty and bold.  I had not thought of dying with acrylic paint.  I just bought a stash bag of mostly white trim - I am going to have some fun with it!

The colors are exactly the same as the paint color I purchased.  This was so easy!  Everyone should try it!

These are great.  Having lace in such fun colors is awesome, something you don't really see ready-made too often.

I love the idea of dyeing with acrylic paint, since it's something most crafters already have around.

woooow, I've tried that but never with acrlylic paint, just with textile paints, never works for me, yours came out amazing, I would love to have stretch leace in bright color to make fun underware... good job!!

It does stiffen the lace a bit so it is probably more decorative.  I'm curious to know how it wears.  I know acrylic paint is washable because I have stained clothing to prove it.  I want to use it as trim on a funky banner I plan to make for my daughter's birthday.

Thanks!  The lace does come out stiffer than it started!
