I hate to throw out all the small leftovers of yarns.  I'm also involved in making afghans to donate to the needy, through an organization I belong to.  Sometimes, if there is enough left over yarn, I make a solid color granny.  Sometimes there isn't enough to make a solid granny so I have to use 2 or 3 colors on one and I hate having to crochet all of them together.  This yo-yo pattern is terrific;  you just add on as you go, no sewing or crocheting together.  Thanks again.

Yep! It's great, isn't it?!

I keep all the ends I snip off and use them to stuff toys. It's the scrapghan that keeps on giving!  Smiley

I started my yo-yo scrapghan and I love the idea of using up all those tiny balls of yarn.  I showed it to my group of volunteer-crafting seniors and they loved the idea.

Here are my oddballs that I received from Knichole last week.

Also, here is a picture of the yo-yo scrapghan I started thanks to Prickly Venus and KimberlyPye

That's gorgeous! So how many yards per yo-yo does it take?

By the way, I will be posting an example of what I will make once my partner in another swap receives, don't wanna ruin the surprise in case she happens to wonder into this gallery Wink

Thanks, Prickly Venus.
Ma Rut, I think the completed yo-yo might take 10 yards or so, so that the these little balls you receive should be perfect for this 'ghan.

With a G-hook, my yo-yos use about 4 yards, leaving enough for a fairly generous tail on either end.

I didn't measure how many yards the yo-yos take, but I guess that you are right Kimberly Pye, as these little balls do make 2 of them.  I think I have been using an I hook for mine.  I want it go fast, as I have too many WIPS.
