These are really nice!  I keep being enchanted with the idea of making my own resin jewelry...  Is there a place I can get a "starter set" or at least instructions so that I can figure out what I need?  Every time I search for resin online I get all sorts of crazy results for ships in bottles and factories and such...

HGTV coast to coast is a good search
But I went to the craft store and the sales lady was very helpful..They also have molds ,dyes in the section.
I only use (Easy cast) it has lil smell and sets easy without bubbles I have tried many. It is addicting and I have spent longggg nites playing. LOL
Buy some and if you need anymore help I'll try to assist.
Have funnnnnnnnnnnn

I love it!

I have a question... how do you dye the resin? Does the blue necklace have glitter in it, and if so do you use regular old glitter? Or do you have to buy special dyes and glitter made just for resin?

What did you use for cord on the necklaces?

Can you dip things in resin... or do you have to use a mold?

Hahah, hope i'm not asking too many questions here.

Hee hee, I'm inspired!

After my questions and doing a bit of research, I have a set of resin stuff on it's way to my mailbox...  I did go with a different poylester-based resin because I read in a few places that epoxy based resin tends to yellow after time, so we'll see whether it smells nasty or not (I have a feeling that the polyester ones may smell more than the epoxy ones).

Thanks for the tips!

I use now clear casting epoxy and it is great. no bubbles no yellow
invirotex has a nasty smell ,turns yellow and leaves a strong smell on your jewlelry.
I have used many brands ,But Easy Cast is the only one I use .
Have fun

I would love to try resin and stuff, but I'm confused. Do you have to buy special resin dye, or could you just stick any sort of food coloring, other dye, or whatever in it? Do you have to heat it up to pour it?

Thank you so much!!

I only use resin dyes
You do not heat...you mix 1 part resin ,1 part catalyst mix well 2 min. and pour into molds.
go to your craft store and see all the molds dyes and also books.it's fun
