we loooove to chat here Grin   I've spent the morning avoiding reality on my computer.  I think I found the crafting mojo hiding in a pile of craft supplies......

LL, can't wait till you can rejoin us!  I hope you get your roof fixed today, that must be kind of disturbing to have a hole when its raining.  we had a leak in our roof (no hole) last year that required a re-shingling to the tune of $13,000.  i would just cry if anything happened to it now.

I'm going to have to go get some housework done. I just remembered that I put some washing on this morning and it isn't going to dry still in the machine! And then I need to make the bed...and get a start on my okra curry...and dips... Cheesy

Well so far from my second ever time on a sewing machine i have learnt many lessons..
1. Just because it looks straight doesnt mean it is.
2. My sewing machine does super duper extra fast like a rocket speed only.
3. Fingers do not make good pincushions.
4. And sewing is NOT my forte.
Edit:
5. I need to buy a unpicker thingy.
6. I should have paid the extra money to get a self threading needle on my machine.
7. My dog is terrified of sewing machines.
8. Cheap tomatoe shaped pincushions are crap.
9. You shouldnt sew your pins into the seams.
10. I should definately give up!

Oh dear KatyMai! I hope you didn't practice on onything important...and that your fingers aren't too punctured!

well you're doing good Phizzy, I haven't even gotten dressed yet!  I would really like to get a little craft time in before my lunch date with the girls today.  from past experience nothing much gets done after a girl lunch Smiley

Well, it is gone 7pm here so it's about time I tackled some minor housework. I took the bedding off to wash it and remembered to put new ones on. Usually I forget and head to bed only to realise that it still needs doing. Roll Eyes That wouldn't be good tonight as blokie is on lates so it's in at 9.30, eat and bed for him! He would not be amused having to make the bed Tongue

Have fun on your lunch!

Hang in there KatyMai!!  You just need to practice.  I'd just get a bunch of cheap fabric and play around.  Unpicking things will drive you crazy if you have to do alot of it.  My secret hope is that Ptarmic will move back home soon so that I can take her up on some  much needed sewing lessons.  Smiley

Craftwise, last night I cut up/prepped about a dozen donut pieces and a ton of strawberries.  Hopefully I can get these sewn up quickly.  By the end of the week I hope to have worked out a sushi pattern...I have tons, but I don't like the way the rice is sewn so I am trying to come up with my own pattern. I am making a batch of felt food for a 1 year old (Bday party) and another big batch for a personal swap.  For the Hawaiian kid I am making sushi and some Hawaiian dishes like pork laulau (basically a ti leaf with pork/fish/taro leaf inside) and maybe spam musubi.  Anyhow I am excited to be creating some felt foods that don't exist anywhere else...maybe I can sell them to the Japanese. Ha!!

Happy crafting everyone!!

I think maybe i was a bit too ambitious, no pattern....

Its come out a right mess but i learned so much from it i dont mind. Think i will try something small next, like a pincushion.

What a great idea! Looks good and it's obviously still useable! Smiley

Ooh, nearly forgot, there's a few things in my shop now. I reserved the trees for lapoli provisionally since they were asked for...but if she doesn't want them they'll be up for grabs too Cheesy
