We've been talking about this idea over in the "Craft for my Kid swap".  I'll organize it starting in July.  It will be like the normal ongoing wish swap, except that your list will be stuff you want for your kids/baby/neighbors kid/kids you have to get christmas-birthday presents for....

So I thought I'd open up a thread for discussion!

I do have one question about the ongoing wish swap....how do we get a first list?  I mean, who gets to post their list first in the first month?  can anybody help me with this?

The way I believe it is done is that the organizer posts her list first and then makes the last claim when the swap closes.

I am so excited for this!  Let me know if you need a co-organizer as I would be more than happy to help out.

Well, I think that maybe we should try and stay around the medium/large sized range.  Remember that people will have 3 weeks to craft the items, so make sure that all of the items on your list could be crafted in 3 weeks...you know...

Also, please make sure that the items have to do with kids.  I mean, if you are looking for pirate fabric to make a quilt for your kid, that is cool, but don't put things on the list that aren't kid related.

Oh, and when you pick people,  please make sure to pick someone for a "medium" amount of stuff.  Like if they have a list of supplies they need, don't just pick someone for "red pipecleaners".  Make them something from their list, and send some red pipecleaners too.

Does that stuff sound fair?
anybody else have ideas for rules?  I've never done an ongoing wish swap before. (I ran the wishlist swap for a few months, but that one was a bit different)  Any suggestions to make it flow easier are welcome!

That's a great idea.  Maybe we can PM Superhooker with a list of items that we can make and she could list it on the first page and that way no one would feel pressured to make something unless they wanted to.
