Vintage Apron Swap? Embroidered aprons?

This sounds like a lot of fun!  If the Happy Housewife swap does not start soon I'll be joining this one.  I already know which pattern I would make.  I love vintage aprons!

Omg, this swap is totally up my alley.  Although I just tried sewing an apron for another swap (that I embroidered btw), but my sewing machine and I and the apron just didn't get along.  I do have an HUGE collection of vintage aprons though.  Would it be acceptable (of course dependant on my partner) to use an apron from say the 50's?  I even have some that still have the tags on them

Maybe try sewing the apron first them embroidering the finished apron? Or embroider a patch and hand sew it onto the apron and avoid the sewing machine I wouldn't mind a 50's apron I guess it would depend on your partner, huh.
