Half-Box of Yellow Cake Mix

Any ideas of what to do with it??  I don't even have the cake instructions that came with the box... just the bag   I might make cupcakes?  I just don't know how to do it in a tasty way.

Cupcakes are good. So is a pineapple-upside-down cake. Or try mixing a bag of frozen fruit and place in a greased pan, pour the rest of the cake mix on.

Of course you need to halve the add ingredients and keep an eye on it, but it sounds like it could be fun.

It's good in a vanilla milkshake. I usually use the vanilla bean ice cream but any vanilla would probably do fine.

My mom made these cookies once a while back and they were really good. This recipe calls for chocolate, but she used yellow, or maybe lemon, so I think it would work. I guess you'd need to half the amounts though.

CRISP CAKE MIX COOKIES   

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 c. crisp rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
1/2 c. melted butter
1 egg, slightly beaten

Blend all ingredients. Form into 1 inch balls immediately and bake, placing 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 9-13 minutes. Very good.

slice some fresh fruit & layer in a small pyrex, sprinkle cake mix evenly over top  then top with little bats of butter  bake till brown & bubbly.

one stick of melted butter and one egg. make a dough and stir in choclate chips.  makes excellent cookies!!

Dump cake! Yum

1 16oz. can of cherry pie filling (any flavor really, cherry is just my favorite)
cake mix
1/2 - 1 stick of butter

Dump the cherry pie filling into a pan, cover with the cake mix, top with pats of butter. Bake at 350 F for about 45 minutes (a full one takes about an hour.. so I don't know, check it before then) or until golden brown and delicious.

if you like pumpkin, pour a can of pumpkin pie filling (not canned pumpkin) in to a greased 9x13 pan, then melt a stick of butter mix with the cake mix and sprinkle over top. Bake at 350 for 20 -25 minutes or until pumpkin filling is set. It taste great warm with whipped cream, if you only have half of box just use half the amounts and freeze the rest for another time.

I made a gooey butter cake that was really tasty from Yellow Cake mix.  I am at work and don't have my grandma's recipe, but I found this one on the internet that looks about right.

EASY GOOEY BUTTER CAKE   
(This turns into like a bottom crust- if you only have half a box, maybe half the recipe and put it in a smaller pan)
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter (do not use butter)
1 egg

GOOEY BUTTER:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 lb. box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together cake mix (just the mix, not the other ingredients called for on the box) with butter and 1 egg. Pat into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Cream together cream cheese, 2 eggs, powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour over cake mixture. Spreading to the edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
