ive been creeping around the dessert board and i love all of these cakes,they are so cute! but what is this fondant stuff? where do you buy it? can you eat it

You can buy fondant at "Wallyworld:, some craft stores and bakers shops. You can also make your own - there are recipes on this bored, you just have to do a quick search of the boards. It is totally edible - pure sugar in some cases, lol. From what I hear the boxed fondant that you buy at the store can have not so pleasant taste. A lot of people on here have made the marshmellow fondant and from what I can tell it looks awesome and sounds yummy Smiley

yah i saw one of the recipes for the marshmellow fondant. i love the way it makes the cakes look so professional

Marshmallow fondant is awesome and easy to make!  You can roll the store-bought kind thinner, but it's expensive and it tastes awful.

Google "mashmallow fondant" and you will find the directions, all you need is a 16 oz bag of marshmallows, a pound of 10X sugar and some water.  I mix mine in my Kitchenaid mixer-much easier than by hand.
