I figured out why my hair is sticking together!

I have one central table in my room that serves as my desk for my laptop, table for my sewing machine, and my place to do all my other crafts.

One of the things I use a lot in crafting is my hot glue gun - it's a low temperature gun, really small; I think I bought it for literally like three bucks at Michaels one day. It serves all my purposes well, so I use it a lot.

I'm also not the neatest person with my glue gun - I get the glue on my fingers (don't worry, it's low temp plus I'm used to it) and I peel off the pieces and tend to leave them on my craft table. I don't really worry about it since it's MY table that no one else uses or even has to see, so I'm allowed to be messy.

Today (and on a few other occasions), I had done my hair only to run my hand through the back of it and discover that bits of my hair had stuck together. I was never able to figure out why until now...

Another thing I use a lot in my day-to-day life is my hair straightener. I have straight hair, but it curls at the ends, so I fire up the straightener on the highest setting (that's what it takes to get the curl out!) and use it to set my curl straight again. I usually do this at my craft table.

Turns out my straightener gets hot enough to melt the hot glue bits on my table; the bits stick to the straightener until I run it through my hair, leaving straight hair stuck together with old hot glue.

Glad I figured that one out - I'll pick up my hot glue bits from now on.

It's always nice to figure these things out, even if it *does* mean you have to pick up after yourself more (or move the straightener).      I dislike not knowing why something's happening.  Now that you know, you know how to fix it, one way or another.  Otherwise you're stuck (no pun intended) with a problem with no solution.
