Someone recently gave me a Janome sew mini machine and I finally got it all set up last night.  I started to sew and the machine was running in reverse.  I hit the back lever and it still ran in reverse.  Not only is it stuck in reverse, but it's not sewing. The needle is just punching holes through the fabric.  I don't know how many times I rethreaded the machine to fix it, but nothing worked.  Any ideas?

Ok - this starts out EXCESSIVELY basic - like if you've never seen a sewing machine before - but it might have some tips on how to set it up.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwEvMTv2xVg

Otherwise you could look for a Janome dealer in your area - they would probably take a look at it no charge and then you would at least know if it's a major problem or not.  If there isn't one nearby you could try to find a local sewing machine and vacuum repair shop and bring it to them.  I would look for someplace that is a dealer of something - Bernina, Pfaff... whatever - just a shop that knows good machines.  Even if they don't sell Janome I'm sure they'll be familiar with them.

And that video doesn't seem to get any more helpful!  Good luck!
