This is my first project post, so please be gentle. Smiley
My bf knows I like to play in my craft room and asked me if I would paint a box that he had to look like a treasure chest.

In the next photo you can see the real latch on the box, but to make it look like a treasure chest I had to paint a new lock on it. You know those sneaky pirates, they don't want to make it easy to get to their treasure!  Cheesy

Here is the lock! The straps are painted black, and I took a screwdriver and gouged  each side them to make it look a little be raised. Then I added gold beads to look like brads on the straps. Once I sprayed everything with polyurethane it looks much better.

Here is the Jolly Roger painted on top! You can see my messy craft table in the background and also the paper I was practicing on drawing him. He even has a patch over his eye.

I lined the inside of the box with red velvet. He added what he's been calling "me gold". Silver and gold dollars. It was a nice added touch.

That's the end! Please tell me what you think about it. He loves it, but since he likes me I think his opinion is biased! LOL  Cheesy

I learned all my morality from the My Little Pony Movie:

Morning Glory: They need our help, Rosedust!

Rosedust: It's not our fight, Morning Glory.

Megan: Yes it is! It's everyone's fight!

Lickety-Split: Yeah! Everybody has to help everyone else!

What an awesome idea! I may steal some version of this for myself; it would be great motivation since I am starting a new mini savings plan. (Yay for being poor an din college!  Grin )

Thank you for the nice replies! I had so much fun doing it!

Afterkate, feel free to make one of your own. I'd love to see it
once you finish with it. I does make saving just a little bit easier
when you have a special place to put it. Cheesy

One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. The great eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire, ash, and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.......
