I just wanted to get some opinions... I've been wanting to try making jewelry for awhile, and have been collecting supplies and decided to go ahead and give it a shot...

Thanks! That picture is a bracelet. I made a necklace to match, also, but haven't gotten a picture of it yet..

I made some more last night, and I'm really excited with how they turned out! What do you think?

Thanks ;-)
I just used jump rings... I can't find (or don't know where to look!) any chain to use. If anyone knows where I can find some, I'd appreciate it :-)

I have found chain at hobbylobby (subscribe to their newsletter for weekly sales flyers and special internet coupons !!) and crafts 2000.  Also one of my favorite places to find chain is re-sale/goodwill stores and clearance jewelry racks. I am so into taking things apart and reusing them.  Don't forget to check out the purse sections! sometimes I find great chain (from the handles) and embellishments on purses to use for jewelry and other crafts!     BAGLADY: WOW!! you have a great eye for color and bead combos!  Your  jewelry is beautiful.

well, i am looking at your jewellery now... and all i have to say is:

 Shocked

WOW!!!!!

the are beautiful!!!!!!    I especially love the lampwork beading.  Have you considered taking a course on jewellery-making???  You obviously have a good eye for color combos and such.
you dont even have to go to an official school... you can just go to weekend-weeklong workshops in various places. I'm taking a course now, AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Thanks guys! I haven't taken a course, but that really sounds interesting! There are still a lot of things I'd like to learn that are driving me crazy trying to figure out, lol, so that might help!

In the ones above, I used headpins, jump rings and tigertail wire. I just ordered some illusion wire (love those necklaces!), some 22 gauge wire, and some chain - woohoo! I love dangle earrings with chain!

I started a few years ago with an interest in jewelry when my best friend and I were pregnant with our first babies (that also developed into GracieTom lol) and wanted to make baby bracelets... but, they were just too small for me, and I got irritated fast- never even considering making my OWN jewelry (duh!!). Then out of nowhere, I found myself attracted to beads... beads... beads... and so I started buying them and stocking up, not sure what to with them all. Then, I created a website for a client that designs jewelry - of course, I didn't want to knock off her jewelry as it was very unique in it's own way, but I realized that I had some ideas of my own that *if I could just get them to hang right, or lay right, or even get them on the wire right* would be just as beautiful, so I sat down one night with The Apprentice and ER and went to town. Now, I'm addicted!  Wink

btw.. all of these pieces are for sale at www.gracietom.com !!!

A good source for pretty much anything you'd ever need or want to make jewelry is www.firemountaingem s.com.  They have everything from precious gems to glass beads to every possible kind of jewelry finding and wire and chain, too.  I've ordered tons of stuff from them and I've always been really happy with all their stuff.  And a bonus is they'll start sending you their huge catalogs too!

Really lovely stuff!
Another place you might have a look at for chain is Fusion Beads:  www.fusionbeads.com.  I haven't actually ordered online from them, but only because I live about 5 minutes away from the store! They've got a nice selection of items, and the employees are very helpful.
