i posted this somewhere, but can't remember where Huh ahhh, sleep deprivation...

so, i'd love to hear how to go about making the spirally wire frame and affixing paper to it-whenever i try to picture doing it, i see myself glued to a big wiry, papery, crumpled mess...

a long long time ago i tried making a paper lantern.. i fashioned it out of those wooden skewers instead of wire, though. maybe you can try that as a preliminary experiment. i made the frame out of skewers (mine was more of a trapezoid shape) and then applied glue to the sticks and covered it with the paper little by little. it worked out pretty well but the paper i used was not that sturdy, so it ended up ripping after some abuse.
