sounds odd, I know, but for a project of mine, I'd like to silk screen text onto a piece of 6 inch diameter PVC pipe, going a quarter around the circumference.  Is this possible A) to even print to PVC, or B) to do a curved surface?  What about if the pvc is painted?

any help greatly appreciated!

thanks!

it's possible to do a curved surface, but it's going to be difficult.

first off, figure out what kind of ink you'll need to 'bite' into the pvc to keep the design on.

is this a design that you could stencil instead of silkscreen? if you cut the design out of contact paper and then put it on the pipe, you could conform it easily to the shape.

if I was going to do this, I would take a piece of loose screen, put the design on and get it all ready, and then duct-tape it tightly to the pvc pipe and try to screen it. I'd probably also get a really narrow squeegee or sacrifice a larger one and cut it to the profile of the pipe.

good luck - make sure you post with technique & results!
