A yarn only a mother could love because it is my first handspun ever!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I got my drop spindle Tuesday from froggy fibers - can I just say what a dear she is?

It's only about 6 yards with an unknown wool that I just used to practice.  I wanted to practice plying too so the red is just a commercial yarn.

Now I can see why you all are soooo addicted to this spinning thing - I will show my other attempts off tomorrow for my first fiber friday!

I'm a newbie too.  I have yet to ply, but I'll get there.  Your first looks waaay better than my first.  Look forward to seeing you post in Fiber Friday Cheesy

Awe thanks myklia!  I noticed from your FF post that you live in Wisconsin - if you are ever in Minneapolis we should get together to practice together  Cheesy

It has been a long time since I have been up that way.  I don't normally have reason to go up there.  Sounds like fun if I ever make there (I live just outside of Milwaukee).

I think it's cute Cheesy I'm new at spinning, too.
You should see my 1st handspun. Now that is something to laugh at.
Just keep working at it. And if you like it, that's all that matters.  Grin

Well darn, just give me a holler if you do!  And thanks craftycavy, you are totally right, just keep working at it and hopefully one day I can spin a yarn worth talking about.  Cheesy

We should start a new thread for us newbie spinners to help each other out and give encouragement - there seems to be quite a few

Agreed! This is such a friendly board; I think that without the encouragement here, I'd get entirely too frustrated with spinning. It's just such a tricky craft to understand without someone here to teach me.

Yay for first spun skeins! I swear if anyone every saw the first handspun that I attempted they would think I didn't know a thing. Of course at the time, I didn't.
Great Job gerrijo! Cheesy
