I've been knitting baby hats for the afghans for Afghanistan project. http://www.afghansforafghans.org/
AsphaltQueen generously sent me tons of lovely orange yarn - which ended up making 9 hats!

All the hats completed - the pink ones were already made before I found the info that they needed to be wool / animal fiber. Not pictured are the three hats I made before I read that they needed to have ear flaps too. *note to self* check instructions before knitting.

I have already gotten an email that they were received before the deadline. Thank-you so much AsphaltQueen - hope the hats look worthy of your generous gift!

For the next project they are asking for stoles for the Moms, but I haven't found a pattern / yarn that is appropriate. I think I'll wait until they need more hats - those are pretty easy to do while watching tv.

That is great to know that they have different projects. Right now I am knitting squares for the Wildfire Blanket Project for people who lost thier homes in the wildfires here in California. I'll move onto the Afghani's when I am done with the Cali's if the program is still going then.

Wow, that blanket project looks ambitious - kudos to them. That kind of project makes me wish I could crochet so I could knock out some awesome squares.
