I'm still working away on mine.

Oh good!  And it's only 315 pages into this thread -- there's nothing like being late for a party!  I will get some images up of my book/s soon.

Me too! I was going to make a daily event type calendar in my journal but the pages are too small.    I'm on the hunt for a new book to start that in.

YES! I'm doing the Kathryn Wheel Calendar-along thing (http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com/2011/12/goodbye-2011.html)this year... This is my January page, which I also feel is too small.

Kate uses a 12x8 moleskine notebook, so her calendar spreads are 12x16 with like a 1.5" square for each day. I'm also hunting for a bigger book, but thought about just buying 12x16 watercolor paper and then binding it all into a book with a coptic stitch at the end of the year.

I did the journaling on my regular calendar last year, this year I'd like something more private. I'm going to swing by the library today and see what they have in the free book bin.

We just got back from a trip to Arizona, and I worked on a journal along the way. I wasn't able to get much crafting done the last couple of months because I went a little crazy and signed up for classes on-line. No clue what I was thinking.

Anyway, I am home now and I will get pictures uploaded from my journal to share. And I can't wait to get started on my altered calendar!

Finally got a few photos loaded -- that takes me forever for some reason. I am just not a technologically minded person! grr.

Here's a page from my last altered book that I really enjoyed, so I thought I would share -- it was definitely inspired by other artists on Craftster! (Phizzychick, audio, etc.)


It was definitely fun and inspiring, but I also really want to develop my own style. I definitely have evolved (morphed?) into something else, but I really feel like all of my projects are still reaching.
Here's the book I am currently working with - something will definitely be added to the cover, but I haven't decided what that will be yet.


The way I seem to be working is to build up layers throughout the book -- I don't have a finished page yet at all. But it's been a blast experimenting with paints for backgrounds, using up bits and pieces of my paper stash, trying out some new stamps, etc. Here are a few backgrounds that are going on now.
Girly chandeliers -- I am neither girly, nor a chandelier person, but for some reason enjoy this!


Yellow! And the red papers I made from sheet music, paints and Perfect Pearls -- the stencil is from Balzer Designs. (And if you are not familiar with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, look her up. She's my crafty hero. )


I'll add more soon -- but I would love any input you guys have on these!
