Hiya everyone,
One more page to share with you all. I've been neglecting my art journal recently but hopefully february's going to give me some more space to get going. I'm also thinking that i might do the calender page thingy Wink - they always look really pretty. As always, more info on my blog  Cheesy

I don't have any new finished pages right now but I thought I'd show you some that I've been working on anyway.

This is a mad Spanish queen.

And this is the lovely wife of Skull Man Grin

Overcome your fears! This is my sister doing somenthing I NEVER thought she would. She's totally terrified of monkeys so putting her head in there took some serious bravery. The page is a bit too "scrapbook-y" for my taste so I'll probably put some paint on top of some parts.

Thanks for the compliments Wink I actually found doing all the cirlces really relaxing - i did them over a couple of evenings.

I love the colour of your pages imrahil especially the top one. I can't wait to see the finished pages. And with the whole monkey thing - did your sister actually put her head in WITH the monkeys?Huh

No, it was a display of what different animals would eat, so inside the gorilla head was a bunch of bananas Grin Scary enough for her!
But she did go see the real monkeys as well (not putting her head inside though:))

As for my first page, it's gesso on top of a printer paper with text, then watercolour on top of the gesso.

Aha..that makes more sense lol  Wink

And it looks like I might need to invest in some gesso. A lot of the art journal stuff I like seems to make a lot of use of it...(checks empty bank account  Sad )

I blame it on English not being my first language Grin

I like the texture of gesso, it's a bit rougher than white acrylic paint.

Its probably more likely that I was being dense! Your english was perfect - what is your first language out of interest?

Can you get the same effect from acrylic paint as you do from gesso or is that just a no go?

Thanks! My first language is Swedish.

I doubt that watercolor will stick on top of white acrylic, but you could probably do something similar with acrylics. I haven't tried but I think so.
