Yeah, I think I'm going to have to do something like that. I don't want to get rid of any completely, but I might create some kind of stepped effect over several pages to de-bulk it a bit. Cheesy

GUESS WHAT?!?! My bestest friend in the whole wide world let me use her camera today! Its about time I posted pictures.

The cover...still needs SOMETHING not sure though.

Blank art page...just wanted to use up some of those letter stickers....That was the best thing I could make out of the remaining letters.

Page of me n my bestfriend when we were little. It was like 4am. You can tell. lol.

Close up of the words.

Goals page. The Community Chest cards are pockets. (IN ORDER:School goals,Job goals, life goals.)

Juicy background

Red page. The text that isnt water colored is passages from a romance novel. Also, by complete accident..the original page was talking about a girl's first love. I thought it was kind of ironic..because Im in love for the first time too. And the first thing I think of when I think red is love.

Orange and Yellow. I couldnt think of anything orange..so I just went with the flower theme from the yellow page. Also has some of the Phizzy inspired triangles.

Green and Blue Wedding Inspired page. (Old/New-Green. Borrowed/Blue-Blue.)

A close up of the blue. And that text on the green stripe was an accident. My friend dumped some watercolors on the romance passages I was keeping.(Wasnt her fault..my room is a MESS)The text seem to fit.

Purple page-dedicated to my favorite fruit-grapes. Kinda hard to read in this pic.

The first of my random crayon drawings...For this one I took an image and quote off the page. My friend said it reminds her of peyton's art on One Tree Hil. If you dont know what Im talking about..Ill get a link to the pic. The quote says "Words CAN hurt too"

This one is just a quote "I know what you think of me"

This one says "Stared at would be lover"

Thats it. What do you think? Be EXTREMELY honest.

Thanks for the support on the notebook. Now I think I'm inspired to continue the hard work to put fun things inside it! I think it took me about five hours or more just to do the cover, so... I really hope she likes it!

As for craft messes in our house... Let's just say that there is a table runner on the kitchen/dining room table for the first time in quite a while.
I won't describe the other focal points for craft explosions throughout the house.

your.bestnightmare-so glad you finally found a way to share! Monopoly card pockets, very creative! I like the magazine spread background. Very nice collaging. I bet it looks awesome in person. I love the stylized and simple forms on the orange and yellow pages. The green and blue pages have a nice vintage feel to them. The grapes are adorable. I like what the text adds to them instead of just solid circles of color. It makes them more interesting. And crayons are always fun to play with. Scribbling is such a good tension/stress reliever! You've got some good work done on your journal. And I'm glad you could finally share it with us!

Great pages, it's fantastic to finally see them! Cheesy I really love how personal you've made them. Is it any surprise that my favourites are the green/blue ones? Roll Eyes I really like the layout on your monopoly pages too!

your.bestnightmare - It's great to finally see your journal! It's neat so see so many styles in one book and I think it's awesome that you aren't afraid to experiment and try out new things. Your monopoly page is clever! I like the use of the community chest cards as pockets and the collaged money background. I love the vintage look of your blue and green pages and the solid backgrounds on your orange and yellow pages. The grapes are adorable, I like that you reversed it from the usual pages and made the background solid and the grapes out of text. And crayons are a LOT of fun to just sit down and work with! I use them in a lot of my pages too. Smiley

I finished a page last night!

A huge thank you to graverobbergirl for helping me out on this one. Smiley She suggested my using a raven on this background because the ink splotches reminded her of native american art and was even nice enough to send me some raven feathers to use. I hope she's happy with the way I used her gifts! Cheesy My offer to send you a print still stands if you want it!

So, after she suggested the raven I did some research into the mythology of Raven the Trickster and fell in love with a lot of the stories. The most prominent one involved him stealing a light/a flame/the sun and bringing it to mankind, and that he placed the moon and stars in the sky. As fascinated as I was by all the stories, I didn't want to over clutter the page so I chose the story of the theft of fire.

I tried to keep the page as earth toned as I could, so the fire is actually different shades of brown instead of red and yellow. I think the brighter colours would have been a bit much for my theme.
