panthermoon- The color pages is a mix of everything
I had to paint a childrens story for a art class i am taking...and to make sure the paint didnt get on the other pages i stuck a paper towel in between the pages. I didnt want to waste a new paper towel on a each new page so i just used the same one. After i finished my book it had lovely bits of acrylic and tempura paint stuck to it so i went home and watercolored it and stuck it in my journal i love the way it looks.

After a long break I have more pages to show you, some from my old altered book and some from my newest one  I'm addicted to these things:

Old book for my man:
This is the introduction page of the different "faces of Dave" that I posted a long time back. My mother-in-law sent me home with a tiny pack of cards last August, so I encorporated some of the male face cards in this page.



Part 1 of a 2 page spread, focusing on a specific walk in the woods I took with Dave.

New Book:

I wanted to sign up for the tiny house swap but I couldn't contain myself any longer so I started a new book to satisfy myself



This was actually the first page I did. I had seen a tiny house "of cards" and it inspired me. I had planned to just cover the page revealed by the cut out with cards but then I got the idea of transforming the Queen of Hearts card into a sort of Virgin Mary/Virgin de Guadalupe shrine, so I added the scared heart onto her. Then I played off the idea of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, so then I did the "painting the roses red page."


I wanted to tie in the rose theme and bring the four pages together with the War of the Roses

Well, I've been reading this topic for a long, long time.. and I guess you could say 2008 was a year I played "girl, interrupted" for 6 weeks or more.
While on recovery at the day hospital (I didn't sleep there and such), I kept a journal of the process. In fact the day before being admitted I told a friend I wished I could write about it. So, he gave me a notebook and it made a child happy lol 
I became addicted to journaling since that. And now I got the courage to share it with you. 

Although it is mostly written in english (at least the handwritten parts), I'm brazilian, so please don't mind the mistakes...

If needed/curiosity hits, I'd gladly explain what's about.

weeping cloud, I love your new pages! I like that the background isn't altered and I love the little view into your creative train of thought on the roses series. I'm always interested in the ways in which people create.

Smuckers9 that's a great use of paper that would otherwise would be thrown away.  I have some paper I've been using in between pages I've been painting. I may color in the backgrounds and use them in ATCs. I wasn't liking the white background parts.

weeping_cloud I love the rose pages!  they are all good, but those are my favorites.

takia Welcome! I think journaling helps us with all sorts of situations. I have to say that the fact that you write so much on your pages is great.  It's not something I do a lot of, but I'm working on writing a little more this year. At least on some pages.

I do have some pages to post today...

I bought a pair of socks that says this and I had to put it on a page... I painted over the printed paper with white paint to tone it down and added some walnut ink sprayed on it. The mistletoe is some rub-ons I found.



This one I'm not crazy about, but I liked the wrapping paper off of a gift I received for Christmas, it didn't scan well because it's sort of a mirrored paper



and for New Years... This one didn't scan well either, it's an iridescent tissue paper glued to the page. Inside the green pocket is a tag with my resolutions for the year.



I've got a few pages in the works so may have a new one to post in a day or so.

panthermoon, I really liked the saying  "define naughty" lol but my fav page is the new year one (=

yes, I do a lot of writing... but these were the first pages of the first notebook. I'm on my second one now, I will share some of the "best" along the way... these first one were one of the deepest. I've been drawing using different tools and using also different techniques, different ways and stuff to make a collage. We shall see how it goes...

takia- i like the writing on your pages also...i need to do that more often!  I like the mix of different medias.

Smuckers9 yes it was wrapping paper. the red and green stripes on there were ribbon from another gift I received. It sort of represents our family Christmas get together. Which actually happens earlier in December.

Its snowing were i am...and we are kind of snowed in...we can get out but it is a hassle
