I recently found this gorgeous hankie at a local antique mall:

I've wanted a Daisy Hankie ever since I saw "You've Got Mail"-- Meg Ryan's character has a daisy hankie that her mother embroidered for her. I was doubly excited to see it because I absoltely love the show Pushing Daisies , and I'd just watched "Pie-lette" again that morning. Chuck, one of the shows heroines, seems like a hankie person to me and I think she might carry something like this. I love to try and emulate her style-- it's just chock-full of retro elegance.

I embroidered my first initial, "M", onto the hankie in a bright yellow DMC in satin stitch. Please know that I haven't embroidered anything in about 10 years, so be gentle. Wink

Here is the finished project, along with another Pushing Daisies find, a honey bee necklace.

I love this.  I am so obsessed with Pushing Daisies as well!!!  I may just have to make a daisy hankie for my self.  New movie (sorta) coming out this Friday with Lee Pace in it.

Don't forget your towel.
