I was thinking of making something sweet as a surprise for my boyfriend that i don't get to see during the week. but i don't know what to do! i'm not particularly crafty... i want it to be a surprise and i'd like to mail it to him (even though we live in the same city). any ideas? here's a list of things he enjoys:

1. anything nintendo-related (but i've played up this idea to death already)
2. metal music
3. movies
4. writing/recording music
5. writing stories (but to a lesser extent)
6. reading

i just to make him something special that will remind of me while we are apart. plus, i'm bored out of my mind at work. thanks for anything helpful!

Well, my boyfriend writes music too, so I'm making him a lyric journal, you can try that! It's something he can actually use, but it will definitely have sentimental value and remind him of you. You can get really creative and use different things for the pages, and make it really personal by working in lyrics he likes, photos of you two, drawings, whatever! And you don't have to be a master bookbinder, you can just  use rubber cement to hold it together under the cover =]

Psst.. here's a secret. Your last mortal thought will be, "Why did I take so many days- just like today- for granted?"

Well something small since he likes reading...

You could make a bookmark (quilt/sew/knit/papercraft) and mail it to him with a note like, "so we can read bedtime stories together" if cutesy flies with him.
