Hey everyone!
I've been wanting to make rainbow cakes for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage s but wasn't sure if the concept would work.
But then I saw all the amazing rainbow cake posts on here:

The first set of cakes were made with wholemeal self raising flour.
They turned out well but had a slightly too heavy texture so I made the second batch with with half white flour & half wholemeal.
Both batches were topped with pink/purple buttercream icing and animal sprinkles/gold edible sparkles/gold balls/gold hearts.
They were YUMTASTICAL, SUPERPHUNKADELIC bites from heaven!
(I say were because my sis has been on the munch and there is one left!)

My mom used top make rainbow cupcakes with us when we were kids.  For my daughter's 6th birthday, we had a rainbow party and the cupcakes were one of our activities.  We did lots of fun things with food coloring at the party. Of course one little girl told us about her dye allergy  after she'd arrived.

I hope your daughter and her friends had as much fun as I did!
I'm guessing there weren't any disasters with the girl with the allergy.

It wasn't a serious allergy.  We made her a special mix so she didn't ingest any of it.  Her mother wasn't too worried about it.  (Honestly, I got a seriously flaky vibe from that mother. )
