I wear a 6=8, or size medium.  The neat thing about the tablecloth is if you look at it when I cut it out, you can tell that I could have gone bigger or way smaller. Also, the elastic in the upper waist also takes up a lot of slack in the dress, but you can also play with that.  I would say that conservatively, you could get a size 12-14 dress from this and still be comfortable.
