Your dress is so beautiful.  I especially love the pink color that you chose.

I have an oval tablecloth that I purchased from a thrift store months ago.  The center of it is orange linen with a white linen border.  I was considering making a skirt but may adopt your idea instead.  Because I'm taller, though, the finished length may make it more appropriate as a tunic rather than a dress.

Hi! I'm a Karen too! I think a tunic length would be great for this over jeans, or again as a swimsuit cover up. It was just so easy to make and I think that women my age would look nice in it as well as the younger crowd because it's "retro"!! Note to self,,,is it retro if you wore it before??? LOL (I was a baby hippie!)

It's so funny that your name is also Karen.  You and are the same age as well (actually, I'm a year older). I just got back from the thrift store but couldn't find any lace tablecloths.  Since I have the day off tomorrow, I'm going to try a different thrift store.  Wish me luck!!

The late 50's were the Karen years for sure! I used to work with countless Karen's that were in the same age range! If you find one and make it, post it! I'd like to see other's too.

wow! that looks so awesome. im inspired to try something like this. ive always loved the lacy vintage look of table cloths like that. just never thought to do anything with them. hmm ive got some lacy curtains i may just chop at.

and

is that a.... joy mangano huggable hanger i see?

You've got great eyes!!! LOL It is totally a Mangano hanger. I love them, stuff really doesn't fall off of them.  No more clothes on the floor because they fell off! Now the clothes that are on the floor are simply because I'm too lazy to pick them up!

youre totally right. they do work wonderfully. i have the same color set (with laundry totes, for stuff im too lazy to hang) but i went for the gold hooks.
they totally flatter clothes. and if it were any other hanger your stunning lace dress would definitely NOT be able to sit still, lol.
