Thanks for the nice compliments on the owl purse. I was scared people would think it was a little silly (I think everything that goes from a thought/idea in my head to an actual creation is silly). At first I was thinking about making the Robert Kaufman owl pillow from the tutorial (since I'm best at tutorials  Wink ) he has on his website. Well I printed the pattern out and was thinking WOW 30 pages huh? So I taped it all together and then thought hmm, looks a little big and elongated, oh well. So proceeded to cut it out of the fabric, sew it together, and lo and behold she (yes it's a girl owl) used a whole 5 pound box of stuffing and was as big as my 4 yr old. (She named her Allie, sounds like Owl-ly) I was thinking there's no way I'm taking a chance on having to send this thing overseas. IT'S HUGE! Would probably cost 40 or 50 bucks easily. But it's cute and my daughter loves it so then the owl purse thought came to me and thus was born the (silly to me) owl purse. Can't wait to see everyone else's creations. I think this is a really neat swap because it's one item you have to make and you will probably most likely get something that you couldn't make yourself which I love getting. There's no way I could make a temari ball or a lace scarf like that or a grow-a-bag or arm warmers. I can't wait til the drawing. I'm getting anxious!

I have always been under the impression that if it is something that is going to be huge when stuffed, just sent it unstuffed and the recipient can stuff it.  At least that is what has been said in other swaps...that way you can save on postage, plus you won't need a huge box.  Have other people thought this way?  I love the purse though, just a thought for the future.

And, today there is nothing planned, which means I get to start crafting away!

I'm about half done with my WIP. Should be finished within the next few days I hope. If I don't get distracted by something else in the meantime.

Ok...I finally got started.  I have a few pictures to share.  And incase someone doesn't know what I'm talking about making (only a little smaller):
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=244376.0

In progress cherry blossoms:

These are my supplies.  The paper has been cut and is ready to go.  The little pile of strips are going to be the petals...they are 1/16in. x2 in.  The darker pink is 1/8in wide and has been hand fringed.

You can see better

What one blossom will look like, however I'm not happy with the middle pink color, so I may change it.

Now about 100 more to go!!!

Everything you make is BEAUTIFUL summertimerolls! I love love the quilling and ONE DAY I will try it. The kids might be moved out and have kids of their own but trust me, one day I will definitely try this. You do such fabulous work. It takes such patience that I surely don't have at this point in my life. I can't wait to see the finished result!!

O___O That quilling is soooo tiny! I had no idea. That's amazing. <3 I couldn't do it.

I have the last WIP pic of my temari, outlined in gold thread before putting the stars in the centers:

And the finished product!

I'm pleased with how it turned out. <3~ Grin
