This is from a Simplicity pattern, but I did several things differently.  I thought this bag would be a handy diaper bag, it has plenty of room and the colors just look "diaper baggish" to me, ha, ha!  I'm not really sure what to think of this fabric, it's busy, loud and kind of "out there".  I originally bought it for making a "whack and stack" quilt, but wanted to see how it looked as a bag.

It has a pocket on the side, and the flap was supposed to only cover that outside pocket.  But, I thought it would be better to cover the top also.  It doesn't close the top completely, but enough to keep things from flying out.

I made two inner pockets with one being able to hold two pens and a few cards, etc.   I also put metal feet on the bottom because it just looked like it needed them.  Smiley

Thanks for looking, Smiley

Bottom with metal feet.  You can see on the right where it got a little wonky, I could not get that bottom to line up and had to rip out, and re-sew and re-do to the point of driving me crazy, LOL

I love that fabric. It's so spunky and fun looking. You did a great job on the bag. Looks like it was hard.

Thanks!

Well, sometimes I wonder why patterns do what they do, because sometimes I don't "get it".  This pattern wasn't really difficult, I used it as a "base" and did my own thing the rest of the way.  Smiley  I'm learning a lot from patterns though and deriving my own ideas from them, so I guess that's good.

I think the fabric is fabulous!  And it's a great bag, in general.  Kudos!

I'm a fan of busy and loudness!  Love your bag!  What simplicity pattern did you use?  And what's a "whack & stack quilt?"
