My Signature Recycled Bag

View Profile
« on: May 24, 2008 08:50:34 AM »

I am excited to share my new summer hobo handbag. I crocheted this with recycled plastic grocery bags or plarn. It is a variation of the hobo bag that Dao over at ShortyLamCrochet Blogspot created that she calls a Nordstrom hobo bag. I had to make stitch changes to make it work using plarn but it looks very similar. It is lined with a magnetic closure too. Here is the final bag.

I have the free crochet pattern available for anyone who would like to make this handbag. I just started using it and everyone really likes the look of it. They say they can't believe it's made from plastic bags. I just love my handbag as it is fashionable and is from trash!  Here is the free pattern link. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2008/05/16/recycled-plastic-hobo-handbag/

All I can say is WOW.  What an amazing job.  It looks exactly like the original on which it is based.  Good work!
