I got so excited by posting my first piece of work, that I quickly whipped out the stitch-it-kit and some blank bibs that were just waiting to be embroidered, and ..... voila!  I give you the first bib for my baby girl (coming September 4th to a delivery room near you....)

It's a pound cake with butter cream in the centre, pink icing, and raspberries on top!  So excited about my first French Knots!  Even though they're a bit rubbish, I'm amazed they didn't end up tangled messes, so it's all good!

And here it is, full sized... (sorry about the hoop marks!  Told you I was excited... I couldn't even wait for the iron to warm up!!)

Mmmmm... I really want cake now....

By the way, any tips for embroidering on towelling are welcome.  Boy that stuff snags easily!

Sooo cute ! You did a gret job and love the colors you picked !

About embroidering on toweling... well, I heard about using water soluble stabilizer, the one that is transparent, it almost looks like plastic. You could draw the desing on the stabilizer and hoop it along with the towel... You could baste stitch the stabilizer to the towel so id doens't move to much.

I hope this helps, and Congratulations on your new baby to come !!!

This is cute! I am currently stitching on baby bibs too and every so often they snag... but I use Iron on stabilizer so the fabric doesn't move, that seems to help. the cake looks yum!!! I want the stitch it kit.... but i don't need all the stuff that comes with it... the patterns i love though...

Dona, I went to our local craft supermarket (Spotlight) but couldn't find any of this stabiliser.  It would be the answer to my dreams if I found it.  Do you know if I could order it online from anywhere?

Cute! I wish I had thought of making these kind of things when my two were babies.  I was stuck in a crochet mania at that time.  LOL! Grin

You did a great job and good luck with your little one!
