I have just finished my first year at university and I'm going back home on Saturday, so I wanted to make some cards to give to my flatmates. Also, two of them will be birthday cards for my mum and sister.

It was a bit of a creative challenge because I don't have all my craft supplies here in my dorm room, so I went for cute and quirky.

A few hours later, I've got a gang of bright, unique cards on my desk ready to be inscribed:

Using up the leftover scraps of card:

I went with a simple line drawing theme, used a gold pen for accents and sound effects, scrumpled metallic paper for 'frames', some cheap plastic rhinestones, and a few stickers (the polar bears and stars).

They're not much, but I'm pleased with them. I hope you guys think they are cute  Smiley

Those are totally awesome! Your drawing style is so much fun. For just using "scraps" those are great cards.

Thanks for your comments  Smiley

It's funny how those "what do turtles/bunnies say?" cards came about - I drew a cat first and wrote 'meow mew', then a dog which said 'woof woof', and then I drew a bunny and realised I didn't know what noise it should make. The same happened with the turtle, and I decided rather than leaving them silent I rhetorically ask the card recipient, and let the question be an extra bit of eccentricity.
