I absolutely love making my own sketchbooks because they feel more personal than the store bought ones.  These are 3 (almost) identical ones I made last summer.  The paper is hand pulled from abaca (banana leaf) fibers.  Each book has 12 signatures and is bound with a coptic stitch.  The front of every signature has a Japanese image silk screened onto it.  There are three different images and they rotate throughout the books.  Anyways, here they are!

My favorite thing about these books is the deckled edge you get, with the little uneven jibbies you get poking out of the cover Smiley  The bottom left-hand picture is a view of the inside cover and first page.

These are the images that are silk screened on the front of the signatures.  The paper is actually all the same cream color that came out in the first photo.  (I had a hard time photographing the prints)

Thanks so much for looking, I would love to hear your comments and/or criticism!

It is better to destroy than to create what is meaningless.
