I realized a few years ago that I was buying the same stamps over and over again. So I decided that I needed to have some kind of tracking system so that I could stop buying repeats. Then came along the idea for my portable stamp journal. Every time I buy a new stamp I stamp it in the book and also label the stamp itself depending on what series/company the stamp is from!

I basically cut chipboard/cardstock to size, punched holes with my crop-a-dile, and then added fun ribbon.

Now when I'm going to the craft store, or pretty much all the time when I go out, I throw the book in my purse so I can figure out if the stamps I want to buy are ones I have already.

You know this is a great idea!!!!!!!!  I will totally make this a summer project for myself.  I don't tend to buy the same stamps, but I buy a lot of sets from Stamping Up and others that are SO similar.

Plus when you are working on something it will be so handy to just check the journal for what the options are.  Thanks for sharing!!!

Indeed! Great idea! I think I'll make one for my mom, she has quite a collection from eBay, I'm guessing there are some duplicates in the bunch. Tongue

Thanks for posting!

I totally forgot about that aspect but I use it all the time that way since it takes forever to actually look through the stamps.

i love the fabric on the cover!

It's actually not fabric it's paper! I think it's Making Memories brand but I could be wrong!
