What pretty yarn this week!!

I've been working on this one for months...lol.  My wheel just wasn't spinning right so I finally decided to fix it (it's still not perfect but it's spinning much better now!).

So, half of this was spun before it was fixed and half was spun today after being fixed.  So, it's kinda funky...with lumpy and not so bad parts....oh well.

You can totally see the difference on the 2 bobbins!

Here's my weird yarn for this week...

I'm not real happy with it but I think my wheel will be much better now and maybe my yarn will be better now.  I'm planning on spinning more tomorrow...so hopefully I'll have more to contribute to next week's Fiber Friday! Smiley

Hiiiiii Everyone!!

Beautiful jobs everyone has done! Everyone has some really nice colorways.

It's been a long time. I had to stop spinning and knitting for a while to focus on my classes. But my classes ended and now I am back and making up for lost time! Here is what I have worked on this past week. I was feeling adventurous, so I took a stab at some art yarn!!

I have a lot of this greenish-blueish roving, I love it. Nothing special here, just plied two singles.

Handcarded superwash with mohair that when I first got it, I thought was so ugly but turned out really nice! I spun a thin single and then plied it with blue and gold metallic thread

Same single spun with sparklie crochet cotton.

Same single but this time I decided to try coils Smiley

These are mill ends that I decided to try core spun with. I don't know if it came out right or not but I'm proud Smiley

Thanks for looking! comments and tips are appreciated!

I never get tired of seeing everyone's beautiful yarns!  I finally have something to share this week, just a work in progress.  I'm spinning 4 oz of corriedale.  The second photo shows my wheel, with some of the unspun fiber in a basket, and the whisk and candle snuffer my 3 year-old insists on hanging on the handle of my wheel. (?)

I'm digging those colors!  So beautiful.

Great work everyone, I especially love Summer Marshlands.  Great greens.

I've been really itching to spin art yarns too.  Anyone have any pointers?  I just bought 'Intertwined' and a drum carder, so I'm ready to go.

Everyone is making some beautiful yarn! I'm not a huge fan of art yarn so I'm not much help but I would be interested in trying coils or those beehive looking things!
