We're celebrating my niece's birthday tonight - a week earlier than I thought we were going to! - so I whipped up this little wallet for her. Her favourite colour is yellow.
This was my first time making a crocheted button. It turned out bigger than I thought it would, but I think it's cute.
How I did it:
20 sts wide, did rows of sc until it was twice as long as I wanted it to be. On every row after that, I did a decrease at each end of each row, and when there was two stitches left I made a loop out of chains.
Then I folded the bottom up to the last row before the decreases and sewed up the sides. Then turned it inside out.
I got the pattern for the button in the Good Housekeeping needlework book.
I tucked some money inside, then wrapped it. I think it took me about an hour and a half to make it... totally making it up as I went. lol
