i'm posting this in the interior home decorations because i don't plan on putting it outside. i'm really pleased with how it turned out. i woodburned all the pictures, and the borders, and roof design. then i painted all the colored parts with cheap kid's watercolor paints. the roof ant borders got "stained" with brown water color paint over the woodburned designs. i was gonna give it away, but i think i will keep it. lol

the front

the side, both are the same design.

and the back.

sorry for the blurry shots. my 5 year old got my camera and got something on the lens. i've been to lazy to clean it as well as i should. the pictures really don't do the designs or the colors justice, but that's a rough idea of what it looks like. thanks for looking! Smiley

I like that so much.  It reminds me of the sticks work.  I'd keep it too Smiley

that's really pretty!  i bet if you waxed it or something, that would protect the watercolor staining (from normal household life, i mean, not from outdoor weather).

creative criticism always appreciated!

Your birdhouse is beautiful.  I love the style.  I hadn't realized the possibilities of the woodburner.  lol, I would think twice about giving it away too.

most people think of woodburning as an old man's craft. well, i'm not old, and i'm not a man. lol... i don't like most patterns for woodburning. i think they are very dark and not very light hearted. i mean, those designs have their place, just not in my house. so, i'm trying to do fun and whimsical looking stuff. woodburning really is a lot of fun, and its something that's not that expensive to do. my tool was the "deluxe" one, and it cost me $25. came with tons of attachments, and does several things. i've been buying cheap wood plaques, but you could get free wood by using scrap. so, you get a lot of band for your buck with it.

anyhow, thank you guys for your encouraging comments! i really appreciate your feedback Smiley
