Wow... I just can't say enough about these quilts... I didn't make this one, but I sure do hope to someday soon!!!  The process is just neat too... folks collect old jeans, cut them into 6" squares, have people write positive/supportive messages to the soldiers, the signed squares are collected and mixed up, and sent back out to quilters to make the quilts - then they are given to wounded warriors for their recovery.

I have been collecting jeans and cutting them, and have been at a couple signing events and saw a quilt in the beginning stages, layout and square formation... but I didn't get to see it finished!

This picture gives me goosebumps!!! Enjoy!

That is such a great thing to do, where did you hear about this?  I would love to get in on this and make one.

I noticed a posting on craigslist where someone was looking for an organization that makes quilts for soldiers out of jeans, I found it for them and signed up myself...

Oh excellent... there are so many requests.. we can't make them fast enough... there is a process... (I just got my sample quilt to start)

join the yahoogroup, then ask for a sample quilt kit, then complete that and send it back, then you will most likely be approved to sew a FFCQ and then they'll send you all the squares you need to make one.

send an email to: " rt-subscribe@yahoogroups.com">operationquietcomfo rt-subscribe@yahoogroups.com" to join the yahoogroup then go from there!!!

Aren't they marvelous!?!??

Be sure to check the calendar too.  I know they have a NC event coming up in June.
