Here's a couple of newer pieces. The background in the dog portrait (a chow mix named Pookie how cute  Cheesy) took forever. I'm really glad my customer liked it! It was done in prisma colored pencils.



This is a medium ebony chinchilla. The person who bought it didn't really say that much, just that it arrived undamaged in the mail. I really liked it especially because the green background was different for me. It was done in pastels on velour paper.

Holy crap.  When I saw this in the new projects thing, I thought it was a photo.

And even at full size, it still looks eerily close to a photograph. 

I so envy your skills!  Lovely work.

oh wow.  those are so good!  i'm esp. impressed by the chinchilla portrait.  everytime i try to draw my chinny she ends up just looking like a weird deformed mouse.   Undecided

I'm glad that you guys think it looks realistic. It's something that I always try to work on with each portrait.

Puppy_girl, Chins are certainly not easy to draw. I've had mine for nine years now and they move very fast to draw! You should see some of my earlier drawings!
