If you haven't read Bone by Jeff Smith, I highly highly recommend it!  It's a great graphic novel -great for kids and adults alike.

My nine yo daughter really wanted a plushie of the main character: Fone Bone.

I wasn't sure how to start, then it occurred to me that I could make one using gloves.

Here he is:

I made him basically the same way I made these: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231308.msg2520657#msg2520657

He uses a knapsack to carry his copy of Moby Dick, so I need to create a mini Moby Dick book for his bag next.

Now she wants a Phoney Bone, too!  Cheesy

edit:

I ended up putting a mini tute on how I made him on the second page, here's the link:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=247102.msg3746251#msg3746251

He's really great. I don't know the character (yet  Grin  I'm going to have to look into the book.) The stuffie looks so good and I love getting book recommendations for the short people that also appeal to grownups.

I LOVE BONE!!
I have the action figures and all of the books, so when I saw the Fone thumbnail I lit up! That is so cool! GREAT job!

Anyone who hasn't read a Bone book, I highly recommend picking up the first one. You won't want to put it down. It's not just for kids, it's very enjoyable reading for adults (big kids) too! Smiley

He's adorable!  Jeff Smith was one of the first comic creators I ever met in person, so Bone will always have a special place in my heart.

You should try your hand at a fun-fur ratcreature next!

Having an open mind isn't a bad thing. Just don't open it so wide that your brain falls out.
