Hi everyone !! I'm new here, I've been lurking for a long time and now I think it's time for me to show you something mine !!
this is a bag I've made for a Japan-themed swap. It's a traditionnal japanese pattern, and it's entirely hand-sewn !

Comments/criticism more than appreciated !

I don't know how exactly this photo hosting thing works....So... Hope this works !!

Shocked Wow! Completely hand sewn? My hat's off to you. That's quite a bag even for machine sewing. You've done a fantastic job!

Well thank you all for the comments !!! I'm getting so exited since this is my first post !! Thanks !!!

And, it is hand-sewn, yes, but you could'nt really do it with a machine.... Tah bag is composed by 12 japaneses "blocks", wich are made separately... They are made by one big round piece, and a smallest square piece, that fits into the round one. Then you put the square piece onto the round, and fold the round edges over it. This part has to be sewn with a sashiko point, and I think you can't do it with a machine right ?? Then you hae to assemble all the pieces together, and sice there are no seams allowances, it has to be done by hand....

Well, I don't know if I'm very clear... You have to forgie me for my english, actually I'm French and don't speak English very well yet...

And thank you again for all you nice comments !!

Wow, I've seen sashiko & even have a book that I love to read. This is an excellent job. You are right that sashiko stitches are done by hand.
