This is the 2nd set of these I've done now, but I was waiting for my swap partner to receive them, so thought I'd better wait in case she got any hints!

Anyway, both my sister and a swap partner are teachers, and both had dropped hints (indirectly) that they were desperate for finger puppets for their classes, but I knew from my sister that they don't really get a budget for such things.  So, of course, out came the knitting needles and google!

and so, the 6 little pigs and 2 wolves were born!

Hello! My name is Megan and I'm addicted to fabric. Hey, isn't the first step to recovery admitting that you have a problem?

How perfect! The story baskets that can be made around those adorable puppets, oh and the dramatic play! The possibilities!  Have you thought about a monkey set? Or a chicken set? Ohhhh, or a wolf and people set?

I must now hide your post, if my fiance saw those I whould have to try and fail at accomplishing the perfect puppets for his classroom.

Really your skill is amazing!

thanks guys  Grin

These really were the quickest thing I've knitted in a LONG time, each one only took about an hour (and most of that was because I kept getting distracted by Craftster...  Roll Eyes)

heh, that's essentially why it all started, my sister requested them and I realised how similar my swap partner was (jojo_modjo), they're ending up with almost identical packages from me this year!!

I've got to work out how to make 3 different sized bears... sis wants as many fairy tales as possible!

I got the basic pattern from here and tweaked as I went.  They're fiddly, but if you've worked in the round before they're not too bad (I found that working on a table was helpful, there's a few times when you've only got 1 stitch on each of the 3 needles!  There were lots of swear words...), but once you've done one is dead easy!!

And very lovely they are too! I didn't get a chance to use them today, I had all my bigger kids! Cheesy
(Mojen's swap partner)

heh, I'd be tempted to use them on the bigger kids too, but then I don't think I ever got older than about 20, so I forget that other people DO grow up  Cheesy
