Oh how I love pasties. I love the look of them, the feel of them, damn I even love the monotony of making them! But i cant help thinking that.. hey... when on earth am I gonna wear the damn things?! And its a terrible shame that they only get seen by one or two people.... Wink

So I had a brain wave one day and thought that if i simply scaled one up and made a giant pastie it would make a mighty fine little hat that could be seen by everyone! It may take me hours I thought (yes it took me many hours... the sequins are completely sewn on...but doing it in front of a couple of films made it quite fun) but so worth it at the end to make something original. And the pasties in agent provocateur are 30...

I made this with pretty much exactly 6 metres of shiny red sequins, a square of cherry red felt, matching red thread and a couple of hair clips to keep it on my head. Cost about 3 to make. I challenge you to make one, just mock up a pattern of a circle or heart or star or anything else about 7 times 7 inches and do the pastie making thing of cutting a wedge into the felt to give it a more rounded shape. try the pattern on first to check it sits nice, then go ahead and start sewing from the middle outwards all the sequins!

Ok ill shut up now, can you tell im proud?! Without further ado-

Sitting happily on my medium- sized dog.

I was trying on little hats like that today (just for fun) and they were 95+!!!  It's such a cute idea wow must have taken ages!!  I'm sure it could work with gluing the sequins instead of sewing them to save time...another good reason to buy a glue gun (woolworths have the "worth it" ones on offer for about 3.50...o dear 6 weeks sabbatical and I'm still talking about work.)

Cheesy true. I did think about using a hot gun but then thought there'd be something a bit more old-fashioned and ong lasting about sewing them on... probably less messy too! thankyou Cheesy xxx
