I love them! And I hear you about the no-headboard business... my boyfriend JUST got one after two years of headboardlessness, which is good, because it was driving me nuts! I've been trying to figure out some artwork for over my bed (low-ish headboard + high ceiling + white paint = too much empty space!) and you might have just inspired me! I don't know if I have the patience or the exacto skills though. Anyway, this rocks!

These are just beauiful.  A question though:  When you say, "Then I just taped the board with the strips on it to the underside of the stenciled paper and popped them into the frame," do you mean you taped the flower petals themselves to another paper and then put that into the frame?  Do they lay flat or pop out a bit?  What type of tape?

Thank you so much for your generous comments, everyone!  They make me feel very proud of this project.

Mojo, the photos are a bit deceiving... I can see where the confusion lies.  The strips of magazine (the flowers) actually lie UNDER the white part that you see.  The white paper is a solid sheet with cut-outs in the shape of the flowers on it.  As I said, the photos isn't matted... I just cut off the ends of the petal so it would appear "framed" within the frame.  Then I took another piece of paper, slightly smaller, and glued strips in on direction over the entire thing.  Then I just laid the white paper with the holes cut out over top of the paper with the strips, and the strips show through wherever the paper is cut out.  So it doesn't really matter what kind of tape you use, because it's on the underside of the print and you don't see it.

If this explanation isn't any clearer, have a look at the Patricia Zapata link I put in the original post... it contains a video of this process!

I like how they look GREAT from far away.
Because you have no clue what they are.
They're really smart.but i think the green one fits in fine.
